OUGD602 - OS31 - MEDIA COVERAGE

OUGD601
OS31 - CHRISTMAS TREE BRIEF
MEDIA COVERAGE

I recently signed up to partake in a work shop ran by Tony Broomhead, a sheffield based architect. The brief was a hands on and craft based brief. This was something that I was keen to participate in. Crafting and finishing are skills that I love but am ever keen to improve on.

During the day we were able to gain lots of feedback from Tony about the architecture industry and draw parallels with the graphic design industry. We also learnt key skills such as mock ups and prototyping.

The work shop involved creating a sustainable christmas tree out of foam board that would be presented to Holbeck urban village. My team decided to focus on a modular, geometric tree.

When we went to Holbeck to present the tree there was a photographer present who took our picture and told us to look out in the local newspaper for the results.

Although the brief was a challenge and something out of my comfort zone the pay off was great. The publicity is also a bonus in what was a fun yet challenging experience. It was also great to create a new contact in Tony Broomhead who I will hopefully correspond with in the future.
